Noisy Water Heater?
Flush Your Water Heater If your hot water heater is making noise or isn't working well, it's time to flush it. Impurities in the water drop to the bottom of the tank as it's heated. This sediment sticks to heating coils, clogs the drain valve and shortens the life of your heater. To avoid that, flush the tank every six months, more often if you're in a hard water area.
Wobbly Ceiling Fans?
If your ceiling fan wobbles when it runs, the blades may be unbalanced. Try switching two adjacent blades. If that doesn't work, take all the blades off and weigh each one on a food or postal scale. For the underweight one, tape a soft object such as modeling clay to the top center of the blade, making its weight the same as the others.
Problem with flow?
Uneven Water Flow Cure Over time, lime and calcium in your water will build up in your faucets, nozzles and showerheads. Eventually, the water flow from those nozzles becomes slow and uneven. To fix that, unscrew the heads on the shower and faucets, then soak them for a few hours in a decalcifier such as CLR. Finally, scrub them with a toothbrush and re-attach.
